Q. What Happens To My Vehicle After I Donate It?
A. First, we assess every vehicle donation that we receive. Then, we sell the donated vehicle. Once your vehicle has been sold, the proceeds will be used by Memphis Goodwill to create additional jobs and mission opportunities. Finally, we provide a Titled Goods tax-deductible donation receipt.
Q. How Does The Donation Process Work?
A. Vehicles can only be donated at the Stage Transportation location, 6899 Stage Rd. Memphis, TN 38133

1. First, you get in touch with us, either through a phone call or our online donation form, where you provide basic details regarding your vehicle.
2. Once we verify all information, we will call you back to arrange the drop off (or free pick up and tow of your vehicle if dropoff is not possible) – at a time and place convenient for you.
3. Finally, our team will handle all your paperwork, sell your donated vehicle, and provide your tax receipt.
Q. Do You Take Abandoned Vehicles?
A. In most cases, we cannot accept an abandoned vehicle as proof of ownership is required to donate. If you find an abandoned vehicle, please notify your local police department.
However, we do accept non-working vehicles - but no junk vehicles.
Q. I Am Planning To Donate An Inherited Car. Will You Accept It?
A. We can accept inherited vehicles, but you must have the title. Give us a call at

A. You sure can! We welcome multiple donations!
Q. How Do I Arrange a Pick Up if I am not able to drop off my vehicle at the Goodwill Stage Transportation location?
A. Fill out the form at the top of this page or give us a call at (901) 507-9605 and let us know when and where you’d like your vehicle to be picked up. We will then coordinate a time and place convenient for you.
Q. How Much Will Towing My Vehicle Cost Me?
A. Goodwill Car Donations offers FREE pick up and towing of all donated vehicles.
Q. What If I Cannot Be There In Person On The Day My Vehicle Is Getting Picked Up?
A. Goodwill requires you to be there in person in order for your vehicle to be picked up. Therefore, schedule a convenient day and time that you can be there.
Q. Will I Get A Tax Deduction?
A. Yes! Contributing to an IRS-certified 501(c)3 nonprofit organization automatically gives you the right to claim a tax deduction.
Q. How Much Of A Tax Deduction Can I Claim For My Vehicle Donation?
A. It depends on your vehicle’s final selling price. The IRS Publication 561 states that donors are eligible to deduct the fair market value of the vehicle up to $500 or the amount it sells for, whichever is higher. The selling price will be indicated on the tax receipt we give to you.

Q. If Two Names Are Listed On The Title, Do Both People Need To Sign It?
